Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.

- Albert Einstein

Bordered by Pushaw Stream and fed by Dead Stream, paddling at Hirundo is a must. Enjoy tranquil waterways, sparkling reflections and abundant wildlife. Beaver, muskrat, and heron are frequently spotted along our routes. Pushaw dam, at the outlet of Pushaw Lake, is a favorite osprey hang-out particularly during the alewife run in the spring. In the fall, when alewife fry head back to the ocean, hundreds of 5 inch fry can be spotted “heading” tail first over the sluice.

Bring your canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards to Hirundo's boat launch at Gate 3 and enjoy your own excursion on either stream.
